FileConverter Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Nunuworks, Inc. handles information for the FileConverter website, download experience, one-time purchase, license-key delivery and resend, support, and desktop application.

The general Nunuworks Privacy Policy continues to apply to the company website and other Nunuworks relationships. This product policy controls for FileConverter where it is more specific.

FileConverter performs inspection, conversion, validation, staging, and output publication on the user's computer. Nunuworks does not receive or store source files, converted files, previews, filenames, paths, embedded file metadata, conversion choices, or conversion history through the product's purchase or licensing systems.

The desktop application does not use cloud conversion, remote file history, advertising, analytics, an app account, or a recurring license-validation service. Free and licensed modes use the same local conversion engines, validation, privacy, and output quality.

If a user intentionally attaches a file or diagnostic export to a support message, that separate communication is handled as support information and is not an automatic FileConverter upload.

FileConverter stores bounded local preferences, conversion job state needed for safe recovery, redacted diagnostics, update state, the free-use allowance, and any entered license key. The signed key is protected using the operating system storage available to the qualified package and is verified locally.

The free allowance uses local dates and state. Nunuworks does not receive the allowance counter. Local diagnostics exclude file contents, raw paths, raw filenames, embedded metadata, purchase email, complete license keys, and signing secrets.

Deleting application data may remove preferences, allowance state, or the locally stored key. Keep the license email so the same key can be entered again where permitted by the License Terms.

When a person chooses to purchase, the FileConverter app sends only the entered email address, a random purchase-attempt identifier, and the current terms and immediate-delivery consent to a Nunuworks server endpoint. No selected-file or conversion information is included.

Stripe's hosted Checkout collects and processes the purchaser's email, payment method, billing address, tax location, IP address, fraud-prevention signals, and ordinary browser or device information under Stripe's own privacy terms. Nunuworks does not receive complete card numbers or security codes.

Nunuworks stores the normalized purchase email, internal order ID, Stripe Checkout/Customer/PaymentIntent identifiers, amount, currency, tax-adjusted total, payment and dispute status, consent timestamps and terms version, three random license IDs, issuance status, and license-email delivery or resend state.

Each signed FileConverter license key contains a version, FileConverter product audience, random license ID, one of three slot numbers, perpetual entitlement, all-released-updates entitlement, issuance time, and signing-key identifier. It does not contain the purchaser's email, name, payment details, hardware serial number, advertising ID, device fingerprint, file information, or conversion history.

Nunuworks stores each issued key in an authenticated encrypted envelope so it can resend the exact same key without retaining every historical signing private key. It does not receive a recurring activation or validation request after a key is entered in the app.

A refund, reversed payment, or dispute can block future resends and mark a license ID suspended or revoked in Nunuworks records. An offline app does not contact the server to check that status.

Nunuworks uses Postmark to send the three license keys and eligible resend messages. Postmark receives the recipient email, message content, delivery metadata, IP and provider logs ordinarily needed to transmit and troubleshoot email.

Nunuworks uses an isolated Firebase Cloud Functions codebase and Firestore for server-side checkout, fulfillment, order, durable email delivery, and license records. Google may process ordinary infrastructure, security, request, and operational data. Browser access to FileConverter purchase records in Firestore is denied; server code uses authenticated administrative access.

Nunuworks may use service providers for hosting, payments, tax calculation, fraud prevention, email, security, support, accounting, and legal compliance. Providers process information under their own terms and Nunuworks' applicable arrangements with them.

The website and hosting provider may process ordinary request information when an installer is downloaded, including IP address, time, requested artifact, browser or user agent, and security or delivery logs.

An installed FileConverter package may check a fixed Nunuworks-controlled HTTPS update feed unless the user disables update checks. The request may include the app version, operating system, architecture, package type, release channel, and bounded protocol information. It does not include a source or output path, filename, conversion history, purchase email, license key, account ID, hardware serial number, or stable installation identifier.

Nunuworks uses FileConverter purchase information to create Checkout Sessions, verify payment, calculate or document tax, issue exactly three license keys, deliver and resend those keys, provide support, prevent abuse, reconcile payments, respond to disputes, maintain security, and meet accounting or legal obligations.

Depending on location and context, legal bases may include performance of a contract, steps requested before a contract, consent to immediate digital delivery, legitimate interests in security and product operations, and compliance with legal obligations.

Nunuworks does not sell FileConverter personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. FileConverter contains no third-party advertising SDK.

Purchase, payment, tax, consent, license issuance, email-delivery, dispute, and security records are retained for as long as reasonably needed to honor the perpetual license, resend keys, prevent duplicate fulfillment, support users, document taxes and accounting, resolve disputes, and comply with law.

An unpaid or abandoned purchase attempt is scheduled for automatic deletion after 30 days. Pseudonymous abuse-control buckets expire automatically after their bounded windows, and webhook and email-delivery operation records have bounded retention unless a legal or security need requires otherwise.

A deletion request may be limited where Nunuworks must retain transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, license, dispute, legal, or backup records. Where deletion is appropriate, Nunuworks may retain a minimal suppression or anti-abuse record so a deleted or reversed purchase is not fulfilled again.

Local app data remains on the user's device until the user removes it or the application's bounded cleanup rules apply. Nunuworks cannot remotely delete an offline license key stored on a device.

Nunuworks uses measures designed for the sensitivity of the information, including server-only Stripe and Postmark credentials, signed Stripe webhook verification, idempotent fulfillment, restricted database access, signed license tokens, secret-managed private signing keys, bounded logs, and local operating-system protection for stored keys.

No software, email, payment system, website, or cloud provider is perfectly secure. Users should protect access to their purchase email and should not publish or share license keys.

Depending on location, a person may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing. Nunuworks may need to verify the request and may retain information required for transaction records, security, tax, legal obligations, or the continuing license relationship.

Users can disable optional update checks in FileConverter where offered, delete local application data through the operating system, and contact Nunuworks about purchase-email correction or privacy requests. Payment-provider requests may also need to be directed to Stripe.

Nunuworks is based in Vancouver, Canada. Nunuworks and its providers may process purchase and support information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where infrastructure or support is operated, subject to applicable safeguards.

FileConverter and its purchase flow are not directed to children under 13. Nunuworks does not knowingly collect purchase information from a child who cannot lawfully enter the License Terms.

Nunuworks may update this policy as FileConverter, its providers, or legal requirements change. The updated page will show a new date. Material changes may be communicated through the site, application, update notes, license email, or another reasonable channel.
